HOLY SPIRIT TEACHINGS
The Remnant
Many people have heard and read with the understanding that God will only save a remnant and because of this teaching, it has caused many to lose hope in being able to enter into God’s house. Let us take a deeper look as the Holy Spirit leads us into the word of God and shows us just what God was speaking in regards to who will enter into His house and who is the remnant that He was referring to in the Scriptures. As you go through this we are speaking about a spiritual nation that God is building by His Spirit. He will go after the people and place them where He pleases and how He pleases. He will build this spiritual nation and put in place kings/priests, saints, and then Israel (everyone else). After being placed in this order, the nation will be built and subjected under Jesus once the foundation is completed (1Cor. 15:27-28).
Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea (Gen 32:12, Psalm 139:17-18, Hebrews 11:12).
The Restoration of Israel
10 “Yet the number of the children of Israel
Shall be as the sand of the sea,
Which cannot be measured or numbered.
And it shall come to pass
In the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
There it shall be said to them,
‘You are sons of the living God.’
As you see in all the above Scriptures that have been given that God had always said that Israel would be so big that you would not be able to number them. So what exactly is God saying here? God wanted a family and the family started with the Jews but because the Jews rejected the Living God (Jeremiah 4:22); He went to a people that did not know Him to make them His people [Family] (Romans 9:25, Hosea 2:23, 1Peter 2:10). Throughout the old and new testament God has shown that He would fill His house with people that would want to enter in by invitation (Matthew 22:9-10, Luke 14: 23-24). Many will accept his invitation in this time to come into His house and dine with Him and many will make excuses, the question is when He comes to you, will you accept His invitation or will you make excuses?
So who is the remnant that is spoken of by many that will be saved?
When I think of the word Remnant I see a small piece of fabric from a bolt of fabric….
As I looked this word up in the Lexicon I came across words such as rest, portion, reserve…..
7 Your country is desolate,
Your cities are burned with fire;
Strangers devour your land in your presence;
And it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 So the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard,
As a hut in a garden of cucumbers,
As a besieged city.
9 Unless the Lord of hosts
Had left to us a very small remnant,
We would have become like Sodom,
We would have been made like Gomorrah.
10 Hear the word of the Lord,
You rulers of Sodom;
Give ear to the law of our God,
You people of Gomorrah:
11 “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?”
Says the Lord.
“I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of fed cattle.
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
Or of lambs or goats.
When you read verses 7-9, you see that God had dealt with Israel, a remnant was kept, and as we jump into verse 10 we see that God is speaking to the rulers of Sodom and the people of Gomorrah. What is seen here is that if the rulers had followed the statutes of God and kept the law then they would have been spared or saved. Here we see that it was the rulers that caused these cities to turn away from God.
20 And it shall come to pass in that day
That the remnant of Israel,
And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob,
Will never again depend on him who defeated them,
But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21 The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob,
To the Mighty God.
22 For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea,
A remnant of them will return;
The destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
23 For the Lord God of hosts
Will make a determined end
In the midst of all the land.
We clearly see that God prophesied through the prophet Isaiah that He would return the remnant of Israel / Jacob and they will depend on the Lord, the Holy one of Israel, in truth. We still do not see this today because this prophetic word has not come to pass but is starting to be fulfilled in this time (John 4:23-24).
God said that He would make Israel as much as the sand at the sea but the remnant that God will truly save which will be a small number would be the remnant of Judah. David came out of Judah and so did Jesus but the line of Judah will be the line that would help rule (Jeremiah 33:14-26) as the King/Priest of Israel with Christ, along with the saints and they would assist in ruling the spiritual nation of Israel which will be manifested in the natural.
7 “The Lord will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall not become greater than that of Judah. 8 In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them. 9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Judah in this time would be called the sons of God and they will be raised first so that no one would become higher than them and they will be like God (Joel 2:32). God is raising His sons in this hour (kings/priests) and they will demonstrate how to give Glory to God in all things. This remnant of people will be immortal (Romans 2:7, 1 Corinthians 15:50-54) which will be something the World has never seen before. Please understand again that many will be saved in spiritual Israel but the remnant of Judah that have been scattered are about to come on scene in this hour as part of the foundation of Jesus who is the cornerstone. No one will be able to touch God’s remnant because they will be pillars in the sanctuary of God’s temple and they will be irremovable (Revelation 3:12).
2 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
I will end with this last Scripture that speaks about the remnant of Judah…
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying in all things….
