The Lord wants to warn His own of a strategy that is about to be used by darkness against you, and to be aware, and on guard for it. Be VERY attentive to obeying His lead. The strategy used will be associated with familiar spirits. Familiar spirits are spoken of in the Bible, and consulting with them is considered forbidden.

God speaks about consulting the dead about the living being wrong, but there’s something deeper the Lord is speaking here. In Greek, ‘familiar’ means: relatives, or they (them) of (his own) household; also an associate with oneself, this can be intimately or in relation to one somehow; it can also mean to receive or take unto.
Be on guard! Trust NO MAN. The ‘dead’ can be working in or through those closest to you. This is why Christ spoke this:
And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.

When His people become one with a familiar spirit, it can cause you to receive them or ‘take unto’ what they’re speaking. In other words, it was given to them. God can give you over to them if you have not sought out His life- giving Spirit’s leading. He can give you over to death. But know this, you would not have entertained or received it so easily if your motives were more for His Life, and not for vanity’s sake. Be aware, ask yourself before the Lord, am I receiving this for my own good, or for Yours Lord? Is it easier to go along with what’s comfortable for my sake, or to go with what You want for Your sake, Your will…no matter the outcome?
