A lockdown means: a restricted state of isolation, for a security measure or also a confining of prisoners to their cells (or also captivity)

Captivity in the Hebrew context means ‘led away.’ These meanings all are pointing to something that is about to occur in the spirit realm, as a result of the rebelliousness and the idolatry among the offspring of God (spiritual Israel). Hear what is being said here. Israel in the Bible struggled with rebellion and idolatry against the Lord, and many times He allowed them to go into captivity as a result of their punishment in sin. He eventually had mercy on them, but many went ‘through it.’

It also isn’t a coincidence that they’re entering into this ‘lockdown’ during a time of their feasts. Later this week Rosh Hashana begins (the Jewish New Year). This is supposed to be a time when judgment occurs and with those that fall into wickedness, they have a period of time to repent. This is supposed to be a time of prayer and repentance. God is allowing ‘captivity’ to occur with His offspring, so that they will rest from the ways of the world and walk into the obedience that leads to true repentance—the way of the Spirit. I keep hearing this scripture regarding this:

I will turn your religious festivals into mourning and all your singing into weeping. I will make all of you wear sackcloth and shave your heads. I will make that time like mourning for an only son and the end of it like a bitter day.

Why is God going to allow this? Because His spiritual offspring (spiritual Israel, not the carnal), has not learned to war or to RESIST evil through full obedience unto the Holy Spirit (James 4:7; Eph. 6:11,13). Instead they have continued in their spiritual rebellion and idolatries against the Lord. He has called them into consistent prayer because they haven’t been consistently seeking God in all areas of their lives, just only when ‘things get hard.’ However, the day has come when, if His offspring have not consulted Him in their decisions rightly, it will be critical. The new norm will have to be obedience to His Spirit’s leading in all things because there won’t be any other way. This will cause you to come into true repentance which is necessary. This will cause you to mourn, not because you want to, but because He will take away the things you love so much and you will cry out in mourning for them at first, not knowing why these things have happened. It’s so you may see…see, how you’ve lost your way because they have come before a holy God. Then you will learn to mourn over what you’ve done and truly see, which will lead to true repentance.

There is also something unusual occurring as well as a result of this lockdown, the rabbis are going to the streets to blow the shofar because many will be inside as a result of the lockdown (‘captivity’).

All I keep hearing from the Lord is this:

While My people are captive by wickedness, the leaders are so bent on performing before men there ‘righteous acts’ so that others may see, but no one is truly walking away from wickedness. Why? Because those that lead them, have not as well. They seek honor from men before honor from God. So, they continue to blow their trumpets or speak ‘good things’ or of good things, but do not do them themselves by My leading—as that’s the ONLY WAY WHICH IS RIGHT. My people are in need and they do not have because you hinder them from entering in (Matt. 23:13). But in this time of captivity, I will speak to them Myself, and they will hear, those that have ears to hear.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Many in the coming days will be put into captivity and God will allow it. But He’s using this time to teach you to ask, and ask rightly. You are in need and will be in need because you either have not asked Him in something or all things, or you ask with wrong motives, or both.

2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
