On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Jesus called sin sickness. And it is also said that sin can lead to death.
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Many are taking all the ‘precautions’ they can so that they don’t get sick from COVID, or also other diseases. However, they take no precaution for the sin which actually kills. Why is that? Because there’s no real belief in the power that sin has over one’s life and where it will lead you if you do not repent of it truly–which is, the killing of your body and soul (Matt.10:28). Why wait to see if it’s true…whether your body and soul are destroyed in hell? It’s a chance you take each time you disobey the Lord. One day, He may not allow another day of grace (James 4:13-15).
If everyone looked at sin as a sickness that is DEATHLY BECAUSE IT IS, maybe they’d truly take precautions in obedience to God and therefore be healed. There is no healing because of the greatness of their idolatry (Jer. 8:18-22).
