“Murder Hornet” Among Gods People

May 6, 2020
In recent days, what they call ‘murder hornets’ have now entered the United States for the first time, and there’s a concern for the honeybee population. This stands out. The word hornet means ‘stinging’ (tsir’ah) in Hebrew. This term was used when discussing passages referring to some way by which the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites were to be driven out before the Israelites in their journey through the desert (Ex. 23:28; Deut. 7:20; Josh. 24:12), by the Lord. Sometimes this can also symbolize some sort of terror or panic that would seize the people to leave (Gen. 35:5). Another term for stinging in Hebrew is ‘nashak’ which means: to strike with a sting (as a serpent), or figuratively, to OPPRESS WITH INTEREST ON A LOAN—BITE, LEND UPON USURY. They came from the Asian region…
What is God saying here? There is something God is allowing to occur for His purposes, in order to DRIVE OUT what He considers the modern-day Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites or their practices thereof. If you look at what they practiced, you’ll see why God is driving this behavior out of the land, and it appears that He’ll do it by putting them under usury…a BIG BITE under it. And, it appears the usurer is coming out of the land of Asia. These usurers will be unreasonable and show no mercy, just as those that have practiced these wicked behaviors over God’s people, have shown no mercy to them, the ones being judged will experience the lack of mercy from God—a just measure (James 2:13; Deut. 7:1-2).
I hear that those that have prepared themselves under the protection and obedience of the Almighty will not be held under this usurer in the coming days because God will provide on His peoples’ behalf. However, those that have practiced under the ways of the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites will be caught under the power of this sting. It will cause terror and panic to seize them. This must occur so that God’s people may come into the place that God has promised them for His glory.
