In the last 24 hours I have seen the word ‘surge’ multiple times come up. The Lord is speaking. For those that are getting used to hearing by the Holy Spirit, oftentimes, He will bring up a term frequently, in a short period of time to tell you to pay attention to something, or He’s trying to show you something.
In the Greek context, the word surge means: raging, wave; toss to and fro; fluctuate; surge against (as in water); strike at; trip up; beat upon; dash; stumble
A definition of surge is: a sudden powerful upward or forward movement; especially by a crowd or by natural force as waves or tide; gush; outpouring; stream flow; burst; rush; the onward ‘surge of an angry mob’
I have seen many speaking about a coming ‘wave’ that’s about to occur, but there’s more to it as to what God is saying. There is a wave coming, but it’s a great test.
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, BECAUSE THE ONE WHO DOUBTS IS LIKE A WAVE OF THE SEA, BLOWN AND TOSSED BY THE WIND.
This scripture is basically saying that God will allow for waves (or surges) to occur to test one’s belief. And, if there’s any doubt, they become like a surge themselves, or in other words, they’ll fluctuate in what they believe (waver/swing/shift/change).
With this next great SURGE or wave coming, and there will be multiple ones, God is going to test at a great level the ones that doubt and the ones that truly stand. The ones that doubt will be exposed for their ‘shifty’ or devious, false, or deceitful ways. The Lord spoke about this in Jeremiah 23:12, regarding the lying prophets and priests, that He would make their paths slippery and dark as a result of their wicked ways. They used their powers unjustly and became adulterers with the world and its ways. They prophesied things that God didn’t tell them to say. And encouraged evil while living a lie. These people are considered infants in God’s eyes (Eph. 4:14).
God is not only going to try people in the faith, but also will allow those that walk in these wicked ways to be more engulfed in the slippery ways they walk in. This will bring them to having to consume bitterness as their fill (Jer. 23:15). They will receive nothing from the Lord (James 1:7).
On the other hand, those that will be found standing as the Lord has told them to during these waves, will receive an outpouring of His Spirit in ways they have not known to this day. Because their prayer was offered in real faith (obedience unto the Spirit of the Lord, Rom. 10:17; Gal. 3:2, 5; Hebrews 11). They will be restored and raised up, and forgiven (James 5:15).
This surge will increase slowly but will increase greatly in the days to come. For those that have ears to hear…
Luke 8:46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
Another version of this says, Jesus replied, “Yes, but I felt the power surge through Me. Someone touched Me to be healed, and they received their healing.
Is the surge coming soon going to toss you or heal you? Only God knows…
