WRITTEN WORD

A Call to Pray For Ephraim & Manasseh to Rise

7/6/2013

On, July 3rd,  2013 Egypt’s Military brought down President Mohamed Morsi making what would be a great historical day for Cairo and the land of Egypt. God spoke to me and said “Read Jacobs blessing over Joseph’s sons.” As I started to research this in the book of Genesis, I quickly came to realize that this historical event had to happen to fulfill the prophetic word / blessing that was spoken over these two sons.

  John 17:6-11

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

“I have shown you to the disciples you gave me out of the world. They were yours. You gave them to me. And they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. I gave them the words you gave me. And they accepted them. They knew for certain that I came from you. They believed that you sent me.

“I pray for them. I am not praying for the world. I am praying for those you have given me, because they are yours.10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. Glory has come to me because of my disciples.

11 “I will not remain in the world any longer. But they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name. It is the name you gave me. Keep them safe so they can be one, just as you and I are one.

I start with this scripture because we have to always remember ONE thing and that is Jesus was led fully by God. Now here Jesus states that he is not praying for the world but only for those who belong to the Father. We need to see that not all of us belong to the Father and not all of us will accept His Son. We may think we have but Paul makes it clear in the book of Romans:

Romans 8:16

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

Only when we begin to walk in total obedience by the leading and the voice of God will we soon come to learn if we truly belong to Him.
Let us now see what was spoken over Joseph’s sons…

Genesis 48

48 Now it came to pass after these things that Joseph was told, “Indeed your father is sick”; and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. And Jacob was told, “Look, your son Joseph is coming to you”; and Israel strengthened himself and sat up on the bed. Then Jacob said to Joseph: “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me, and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession.’ And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. Your offspring whom you beget after them shall be yours; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance. But as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died beside me in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath; and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).”

Then Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?”

And Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place.

And he said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.” 10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim with age, so that he could not see. Then Joseph brought them near him, and he kissed them and embraced them. 11 And Israel said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!”

12 So Joseph brought them from beside his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the earth. 13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near him. 14 Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who wasthe younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.15 And he blessed Joseph, and said:

“God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked,
The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,

16 The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil,
Bless the lads;
Let my name be named upon them,
And the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac;
And let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

17 Now when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; so he took hold of his father’s hand to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head. 18 And Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.”

19 But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.”

20 So he blessed them that day, saying, “By you Israel will bless, saying, ‘May God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!’” And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

21 Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you and bring you back to the land of your fathers. 22 Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and my bow.”

In verse 5 of the scripture God clearly told Jacob that Joseph’s two sons were His. God did not say that they would become His as He stated that with Reuben and Simeon. When you read verse 9 Israel had to ask, “who are these?” referring to Joseph’s two boys. At the end of this chapter Jacob blesses the younger of the two by laying his right hand upon him and what he said in the blessing is key to what would and will become in today’s times. Jacob said” May God make you as Ephraim(meaning Fruitful)  and as Manasseh(Meaning Forgetting, forgetfulness or making to forget).”  God had already told Jacob that both sons were His and now stated that they’d be fruitful, as well as all that God may hold against them would be forgotten by Him (their sins).
We always have to remember that God is Spirit and we are spirit beings. If you belong to God then He will not forget you and He will come after you; and in this time God is going after all those that belong to Him in the land of Egypt. Whatever tactics are tried in the land of Egypt to go against God’s chosen people will not stand because God is bigger than all things.
Ephraim and Manasseh,
God is calling out to you and it is time to not just stand for what is right by the people of Egypt but it’s time to stand and meet your one true living God, Who was and  is to come (Revelation 1:4). It is time to take your rightful place that God has called you to in Him that you may be made holy and righteous in His eyes and His eyes alone. It no longer matters what the people of this world think but it matters what God thinks. Arise and meet your God, Arise and meet your God…
