The Truth about the Word of God

May 19, 2020
This is an outstanding teaching about what the Word of God really is. For many years the Lord has discussed these exact explanations (to a tee) of what truly is the Word of God to my husband and I. Unfortunately, many get snared and have worshiped the creation (Bible) over the Creator (God or Christ). This is a form of idolatry. Therefore the scriptures have become a stumbling block, fulfilling:
39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
Read the entire context of John 5:31-47. There are many key points that Jesus was speaking about regarding all this. Another Scripture that stands out is:
33 “You have sent to John and HE HAS TESTIFIED TO THE TRUTH. 34 NOT THAT I ACCEPT HUMAN TESTIMONY; but I mention it that you may be saved. 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
See what Christ was really saying in verses 33-34. The Truth that Jesus was speaking about was the Holy Spirit, which is known as the Spirit of Truth (John 16:13). John was born with the Spirit of Truth in him (Luke 1:15). He testified or was DECLARING of Jesus’ life (the Spirit of life) in him, and through him, the Holy Spirit was DECLARING REPENTANCE. Jesus made it clear He wasn’t agreeing with a human testimony or John per say, but His own Spirit which was in John the Baptist at that time, IN ORDER TO PREPARE THE PEOPLE TO RECEIVE JESUS’ TESTIMONY. What was Jesus’ testimony? To worship God alone, and love Him alone above ALL things (Matt.22:37; 10:37-39). If someone hasn’t truly repented of their sins, they will not be accepting of this teaching (of the cross), they’ll instead say it’s alright to do as they wish (which usually includes loving many things before God). Paul clearly mentioned what would happen if you do not accept Jesus’ teaching OR ALSO KNOWN AS THE CROSS, you would perish (1Cor. 1:18); perish in your sins (not repent).
Jesus had to mention it because He knew His Spirit would be left when He left the earth to guide His people into all Truth of Himself (John 14:26; 14:16; John 16:7,13; 1Cor. 2:10; 1John 2:20; 1 John 2:27).
Really listen to what is being said in this.
The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth’s role is to guide you into true repentance so that you will accept Christ’s teaching of the cross AND WORSHIP GOD AS HE WOULD LIKE TO BE WORSHIPPED. No man in His own power, without the Spirit’s leading can fulfill this.
