This is a fulfillment of Isaiah 58. Just recently, a 70 year-old man was outside a church feeding the needy and he got punched by a man that claimed ‘he wasn’t contacted first.’ Later, in other stories about this, it was said he ‘was fearful.’ God is exposing peoples’ hearts right now, in their oppressiveness and fear. The man, probably connected to the church, and ‘in charge’ became overcome by his own desires to be in control, and in fear (without true discernment), with rage. This is not from God or of God. There’s a mass exposure occurring here. More than likely, he prays to the Lord ‘in humbleness’ to relent, but with a wrong heart. This is the fasting God is getting at:
The man that lost control and was overcome by the darkness inside of him, due to his lack of control over things (the wrong fast)…
Isa. 58:4 Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife,
and in STRIKING EACH OTHER WITH WICKED FISTS.
You cannot fast as you do today
and expect your voice to be heard on high.
The 70 year-old man feeding the needy (the right fast):
Isaiah 58:7 IS IT NOT TO SHARE YOUR FOOD WITH THE HUNGRY AND TO PROVIDE THE POOR WANDERER WITH SHELTER–
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Are the motives for being humble truly unto the Lord, or the flesh?
Is it about wanting to be in control, or about what God is doing for His mercy’s sake? Hear what the Spirit is saying…
