I was in prayer a few nights ago and the Lord clearly said this, “Accountability is coming!” God is about to show up with accountability in all areas throughout the world. Many have thought they have gotten away with things ‘just because nothing has happened,’ but that is not true. He’s watching and He’s waiting for His appointed time to address the things He’s watched for so long go on.
Matt. 12:36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
Words spoken will be held accountable. In this version of scripture, they use the term ‘every empty word.’ This means every VAIN word spoken, or also, not truly led of the Spirit of the living God. In Hebrew terms this would also indicate every: lying word, foolish (this would include not seeking the Wisdom of the Holy Spirit and His instruction on how to speak it, and speaking without true understanding, reckless/careless word, or with childishness behind it). Another version may say ‘idle words.’ This would indicate words that are LACKING-Dan. 5:27—the words are deficient in the scales of righteousness in God’s eyes. This would also be connected to true justice (See: Prov. 11:1; Mic. 6:8; Lev. 19:15; Prov. 16:11; Prov. 20:10).
There’s also another part of this. Accountability is associated with being explainable. In other words, I see the Lord will allow things to come forth IN ORDER to make known the true motives behind individuals’ hearts. He will make it plain and understandable for all to see that have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit reveals to them. Developments and relationships will be made known as well. (See also: Luke 8:17; Matt. 10:26; Mark 4:22; Luke 12:2; Rom. 1:19). Declarations from heaven will speak of His glory.
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
I also heard the Lord declare in the Spirit over and over, “Throw the first stone!” (John 8:7). It’s interesting, in Exodus 17:1-7, the people contended with Moses because they were thirsty in the desert. They questioned why he brought them out there into the desert and accused him of leading them into death. Eventually, Moses cried out to God for help and even mentioned they may even stone him (like what the Pharisees tried to get Jesus to agree on when they brought the adulteress to Him). So, God agreed to give them water or a sign—by making water come out of the rock. THEY TESTED THE LORD. In fact, they not only quarreled with each other on whether He was actually among them, they tested Him. The Pharisees did the same thing in this story in John 8. Jesus knew it wasn’t about the Law truly, but it was their quarreling among each other on whether God was actually among them and they wanted a sign and tested Him. Their motives weren’t truly about the Law but about whether He was God IN THE FLESH. In this test, they had already accused Him in their hearts or also slandered Him AND committed spiritual adultery (Matt. 16:4). They were in the exact same position as the woman! The Light was among them and revealed or EXPLAINED the darkness that was among them. He wrote in the sand as they were expecting to ‘catch Him.’
Jer. 17:13 LORD, you are the hope of Israel; all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust because they have forsaken the LORD, the spring of living water.
Jer. 2:13 “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. (See also: Mark 2:21-23; Matt. 9:17; Jer. 2:9-19).
Accountability IS coming from the Lord. Fear the Lord! More breaking of the lands and pestilence is coming as well.
The Lord declared, “Shibah!” (Gen. 26:33). This is also referred to ‘the well of oath’ or also ‘seven,’ located in Beersheba. There’s an oath that was made there before God. The Lord warned not to seek Bethel (Amos 5:4-9). The Lord is making a warning here. Be on the watch of what goes on in Beersheba, for the Lord has His eyes on this place.
